I knew it.
Recently I was dining in a Chinese restaurant with a group of friends (okay, so it may have been Korean. But it was in Chinatown so that should count as Chinese.) and my dish (seafood something?) had baby corn.
"Does baby corn just grow on tiny corn stalks?" I asked.
"I don't even think it's really corn." replied one of my roommates.
"What is it then?" I said with uncertainty.
"I don't know. Some other sort of vegetable."
Were there tiny fields of baby corn growing somewhere in the world? Or some other sort of veggie that simply looked like corn?
